Renovation of a new house

Our second house at Długa 12, which we are currently renovating and expanding, will meet the needs of our residents and poor people but also the needs of the community that appreciates the value of the meeting, architecture, film and art and the taste of delicious coffee and tea. The ground floor and the garden is the space for the “PROSTA HISTORIA” (“Straight Story”) cafe, whose decor and program are inspired by David Lynch’s “The Straight Story” movie and the journey of our residents on tractors to Lisieux in France.

On the first floor there are 3 apartments for “veterans” of our Bethlehem – former homeless people who will be involved in the creation and servicing of Długa 12 location. The second floor consists of 4 guest apartments for the participants of retreats, workshops and sessions organized in Bethlehem and for our guests. On the roof terrace, beside the trees and shrubs, there will be a sunroom patio and winter garden.

The whole project is built in the style of Hundertwasser, a Viennese painter and “doctor of architecture”, whose work has inspired us for a long time. The design is a creation of Krakow’s “ASYMETRIA 44” studio with consultations of the Viennese architect PETER PELIKAN – the creator of most of the projects of Hundertwasser in Europe. The residents are working on renovation and expansion of our house under the leadership of PIOTR HASSE, head of a construction company from Mysłowice.

Planned completion date (with your support) is February 2022.
